Chatsworth is home to the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire, and has been passed down through 16 generations of the Cavendish family. There is an exceptional garden which is worth a visit too! Bus can be taken from the end of our road straight there. Do not miss!

Lovely pub on the old cricket green - lovely for lunch and/or dinner. Great quality food and reasonable prices! Less than 5 min drive or a leisurely walk in summer, about 20mins.

Burbage Edge is a local treasure not far from the garden loft in the car - approx 15 mins drive. Can also be reached by bus. Packed with great walks and rambles - also a very popular climbing location - but be careful. Dog friendly area too but there are livestock roaming free. Really recommend this area!

Burbage South Edge
Burbage Edge is a local treasure not far from the garden loft in the car - approx 15 mins drive. Can also be reached by bus. Packed with great walks and rambles - also a very popular climbing location - but be careful. Dog friendly area too but there are livestock roaming free. Really recommend this area!
Bluebell wood aka Gillfield Wood in Totley - bluebells will be in flower from early April - late May.
Really pretty and within walking distance from the Garden Loft - can also catch the 97 bus and get off at the terminus which is conveniently where the start of the walk is which loops through the wood back down into Totley.

Padley Gorge is a bit of a local secret. Expect it to be busy in the summer months as it is perfect for picnics and paddling in the several pools and waterfalls up and down the river. At the top of the river is an old iron age fort site and at the bottom is an ancient forest which is great year round especially in autumn - try to find the 'money tree' and also the old railway track leading to the old mine shaft. A massive favourite for locals. The ice-cream van man is also a local hero.
Parking is free but limited - can also be reached by bus.

There is a grand indoor temperate house with various tropical and succulent plants inside - year round. The grounds are meticulously up-kept - great for picnics or a stop off before going into town. There is also an old bear pit inside the park strangely enough which is worth a visit. Located in the leafy, affluent area near bustling Ecclesal Road which is also perfect for drinks and food.

Golf Club
Local Golf Club - we don't play our selves but this is a very popular destination. It has great views of the peak district from the greens. Can be reached by bus or walking - approx 20 min walk from the garden loft. The course also encapsulates the historic Beauchief Abbey which is also a local sight to behold.

Tesco Express located on the end of our road - two min walk from the Garden Loft. Has most things there, also cash machine. Local cafe Seasons is next door which we highly recommend!
