There is a small play park for children at the side of The Workhouse. There is also a famine tour here for rainy days. They also serve nice cake!

Drive down to the car park if you've young kids as it is a bit of a trek. Car park costs a few euro but worth it as you'll be walking lots through forest park and beaches.

The most beautiful beach is on your doorstep! Take a right at the bottom of the road and keep left - a 3 minute drive! Beautiful for walks and a paddle. If a long walk is what you're after, do the loop! A walk from the house to the beach, walk the length of the beach and take the road up by the Pier and back to the house again. Should take about 2 hours - well worth it. Pristine beach with stunning views of Tory. Ray river runs into the Atlantic here.
