Historic Landmark
John Alden and Priscilla Mullins arrived in Plimoth Colony on the Mayflower in 1620 and were married about 1622. In 1627, they moved to land in Duxbury where they raised their 10 children. That land has never been out of the Alden family. Now designated a National Historic Landmark, the property welcomes visitors for tours of the c. 1680 Alden family home, archeological site, and grounds and offers hands-on programs that "bring history to life."
Alden House is open for tours Wednesday through Saturdays, noon to 4 pm, June through mid-October and at other times by appointment.
Admission: Adults $8, Children (3-17) $5. The grounds are open year-round; a cell phone tour provides highlights of the Alden family story.

High atop Captain's Hill, 200 feet above sea level, stands the Myles Standish Monument, a 116-foot granite shaft crowned by a 14-foot statue of Captain Myles Standish, military leader of Plymouth Colony. When the tower is open, visitors can climb 125 steps to a small viewing area at the top. The monument offers a panoramic view of the South Shore-church spires, several 19th-century lighthouses, Duxbury Beach, Plymouth Harbor, and the Blue Hills.

The King Caesar House, located at 120 King Caesar Road, Duxbury, Massachusetts, was completed in 1809 and built for Ezra Weston II (1772-1842), shown at left, and his wife, Jerusha Bradford Weston (1770-1833). Like his father, Weston was known as “King Caesar” for his success in shipbuilding and shipping. Lloyd’s of London recognized him as the largest shipowner in America. The house’s front rooms, upstairs and downstairs, remain nearly unchanged from their original construction. Especially notable are superb wallpapers in the two front parlors, imported from France for the house and attributed to Dufour. The museum currently displays a variety of Federal artifacts relating to Duxbury’s shipbuilding era.

The Powder Point Bridge was in the Guinness Book of World Records for being the oldest and longest wooden bridge in the world, until it was damaged by fire and completely rebuilt in 1986.
The bridge connects the Duxbury mainland to Duxbury Beach and is a fantastic place to walk and take in the amazing views of the bay and ocean

Just a few steps from the residences is DBMS, a very active sailing and rowing school. Public is allowed to stroll the grounds. Private events and weddings are often held at this direct waterfront destination.
