The Pantheon of National Revival Heroes (Bulgarian: Пантеон на възрожденците) is a Bulgarian national monument and an ossuary, located in the city of Rousse. The remains of 39 famous Bulgarians are interred there, including: Lyuben Karavelov, Zahari Stoyanov, Stefan Karadzha, Panayot Hitov, Tonka Obretenova, Nikola Obretenov, Panayot Volov, Angel Kanchev, and others; 453 other participants in Botev's detachment, the Chervena Voda detachment, in the April uprising, and other revolutionaries have been honored by inscription of their names in the interior. An eternal fire burns in the middle under the gold-plated dome. The Pantheon is one of the 100 Tourist Sites of Bulgaria. In order to build the Pantheon in 1977, the "All Saints" church in the old Rousse cemetery was demolished. The new building was opened to visitors on 28 February 1978. After a public discussion in 2001, the Patheon was "Christianised" by placing a cross on top of its dome. The "St Paisius of Hilendar" chapel, as well as a museum exposition, were founded at that time.

Our biggest park in 5min walking distance. Super silent, relax and pure air in the center of our city. You can make a full walk for about 30min and enjoy a beautiful Danibe river view.

If you want to really relax, and enjoy the nature you have to go 10 km away from Rousse to this great park. You can walk for kilometers, and depending on the season you can enjoy different picture - in October, the golden-red falling leaves, here and there the mushrooms showing up, if it is spring time, them you have ev.th in blossom, and in the hot summer it is a great escape from the heat...Lakes, real wild forest, organised eco-paths, nice pavilions, sculptures, water lilies in the small lakes if it happened to be when they are in blossom....It is the beloved place for a rest, for fishing and a walk for all people in the area.

This is the place where you can meet your friends and relax a bit. There are many benches around and many people bring their kids to play. When the weather is nice there are a lot of people around so locals really enjoy this area. The fountain is cool, too.

Sightseeing

My favorite recommendation for all my guests for a place that is must see near my town! What do Champs Élysées and Gaudi’s artwork have to do with Orlova Chuka cave? Find it out in this truly unforgettable cave tour experience . 35 km away from Rousse town close to river Cherny Lom. A very suitable place for day trips, there is a hut where you can spend the night. There is a wonderful panoramic view over the canyon. The cave is reached after a 5-minute walk down the stone stairs. The cave enters with a guide that takes you through the illuminated galleries and explains in detail. Inside is 14 degrees constant throughout the year. The cave is a complex system of tunnels and halls. Among the sights of the cave are the Concert Hall, the Great Stalactone, The Little Gorge, the Big Hall of the Great Taluses. Amazing shapes and shades. When you tap on the Singing Stones, sounds sound like a musical instrument.

Not far from Ruse by car or coach, there is a car park. The courtyard with flowers and modern church and shop is at ground level but about 40 uneven steps up the mountain side are needed to reach the cave church. Well worth seeing if you can. A very worthwhile visit.

I have seen a great deal of fantastic Roman fortresses all over Europe and I was not impressed with this small but strategically located fort overlooking the Danube. However, I was very impressed with the energetic and welcoming curator. The fort was closed when our group arrived and after several phone calls it turned out the curator was called to the Bulgaria-Romania border to identify some looted objects from antiquity that someone tried to smuggle out of Bulgaria. That story was intriguing. But the fort was finally opened for us and we were shown the site. We also got to examined a WWII bunker with the inscribed name of a German doctor who had carved his name and date into a brick. Apparently the doctor had visited the site a few years ago and made the curator aware of the special brick. All the bricks had been whitewashed at one time. While the paint was removed no other inscribed bricks were found. If you are in Ruse this is worth a visit.

It begins with an old monastery built in a rock. The monk cells are indeed in the mountain but they are panted and all. After it the rode continues along the Lom water in a land with hills and trees. After a while you.ll find the canyon and the delta of Lom, a unique place abundant of specific flora and fauna. I found there huge shells.
