Near Monnickendam (5 km from Edam) in the meadows at the waterfront you’ll find this nice and rustic thee garden 'Theetuin Overleek' where you can drink something or have lunch. They also have some small animals (nice for children) and you can rent a small electric boat or canoe to travel through the Dutch (polder) landscape.

Hoorn is a smal city, 20 km from Edam to the north. Very nice and historic (VOC) harbour. City centre with a lot of shops and 2 beach clubs ‘Volt’ and ‘Oranje buiten’. Just outside the centre at the Ijsselmeer. A great place to shop.

Hoorn is a smal city, 20 km from Edam to the north. Very nice and historic (VOC) harbour. City centre with a lot of shops and 2 beach clubs ‘Volt’ and ‘Oranje buiten’. Just outside the centre at the Ijsselmeer. A great place to shop.
Also an old VOC city and very nice harbour, city centre, and ‘Sprookjeswondeland’ (Fairy tale land) and the vey beautiful Zuiderzeemuseum (museum of the south sea)

In this very small village 'Holysloot' there is not much to see but the road to Holysloot takes you through the real and beautiful Dutch meadows landscape. Very smal roads and waterfronts with all sorts of birds and animals. When you reach Holysloot you can eat and drink at ‘Het Schoolhuis’. In front of the restaurant is a small playground for the children.
