Going to the lighthouse of the mount "Capo Zafferano" is a magical experience that I highly recommend to everyone.
It's one of my favourite places of peace and relaxation...... I'm sure it will be the same for you too!
It's a wonderful walk that starts right next to the beach called "Lido del carabiniere" and allows you to admire the Capo Zafferano bay on one side and the view of Palermo on the other. Well....what are you waiting for? :D

At the extreme tip of Sant'Elia, right next to the beach, go up to the top of the small promontory and reach the small votive shrine dedicated to Sant'Anna: from here you can admire the colors of the sea of the cove, the panorama of Capo Zafferano, the stars that shine in the evening and, if you wake up early in the morning, the sight of the sunrise! Enjoy ;)

Visit Porticello and its wonderful bay of Santa Nicolicchia! The village is famous for its port, the fish market and the second largest fishing fleet in Sicily. You can walk along the promenade and taste fish in any of the local restaurants. Another good experience could be to attend the fish sale directly from the fishing boats at the port of Porticello around 14h/14h30 from Tuesday to Saturday: there you can also buy fish if you want ;)

Visit Porticello and its wonderful bay of Santa Nicolicchia! The village is famous for its port, the fish market and the second largest fishing fleet in Sicily. You can walk along the promenade and taste fish in any of the local restaurants. Another good experience could be to attend the fish sale directly from the fishing boats at the port of Porticello around 14h/14h30 from Tuesday to Saturday: there you can also buy fish if you want ;)

Walking along the paths of the park you will discover the flora and fauna of the area and you can enjoy a breathtaking view until you reach the trigonometric point from which you can admire the beauty of the coast below the mountain and of the territory of Bagheria and neighboring villages.

Note: it could be a very good idea to go to Palermo by train, because the train station is located really near the centre of Palermo! It's only 15 minutes by train from Santa Flavia train station to Palermo train station! ;)

In the morning, near the little port, the fish market takes place. Very interesting is the "Museo dell'acciuga" (anchovy museum), where there are many memorabilia, tools, documents and photographs concerning the fishing activity and, in particular, the anchovy salting process for which Aspra is famous.

Its position in front of the Gulf of Palermo makes it a very charming place, where you can take a nice walk along the seafront and admire a splendid sunset. In the morning, near the little port, the fish market takes place. Very interesting is the "Museo dell'acciuga" (anchovy museum), where there are many memorabilia, tools, documents and photographs concerning the fishing activity and, in particular, the anchovy salting process for which Aspra is famous.

I recommend a day trip, to be spent between a dip in the sea and a walk through the center, enjoying an ice cream or a meal in one of the many restaurants.
Cefalù can be reached by car (about 45 km from your apartment) or by train (about 1 hour from the Santa Flavia railway station).
