Food Scene
No frills restaurant. No design, no fancy just plain good food and tapas. Go for the "Menu del dia" set menu at noon, and get a great 3 course meal for less than 10€! including wine, bread and dessert.
I eat here when I don´t feel like cooking at home and I love their Oxtail stew...

Get seat by the window and see the world pass by, it is a nice place to have dinner. It is just across from the home building, so it is literally 1 minute walk distance. A Taberna is an old world for restaurant, and it does look that part, in a very elegant way. Food is great, a bit expensive but totally worth it!

Peruvian Food is great, real Peruvian food is even better! Kechua is by far, the best Peruvian restaurant in the old city. Ceviche lovers are in heaven in this modest yet excellent restaurant. Tip: go for the set menu at noon (from Monday to Friday) and hit the jackpot by ordering Ceviche de Pescado, lomo Saltado, and a mean dessert with a beer and an appetizer all for 12€! A bargain!

You can also rent a bike and enjoy the scenic 10 km scenic trail. It finishes at El Matadero, a cultural hub with restaurants and bars if you feel like having something to drink or eat after the workout.

Tablao Las Carboneras is located in the most traditional Madrid, the Madrid of the Austrias, walking distance from my place. The Tablao is in the basement of the old palace of the Count of Miranda.
Born from the idea of recovering the old cabarets, this tablao and restaurant combines flamenco and avant-garde image with the best of nowadays flamenco. The fact that is just around the corner is very convenient.
