Food scene
Various members of our family eat predominately vegetarian and/or vegan diets. Verde has amazing food for all! They make an amazing rotisserie chicken (and other meats) as well as serve some of the tastiest vegan Mexican dishes we've had anywhere! They also make one of our favorite breakfasts in town and serve Refuge Coffee, our favorite local roaster.

We're originally from Southern California, where the bar for good sushi is very high. We won't tell you that you can get the best sushi you've ever had here in Tahoe, but Off The Hook certainly meets our standards forvery good sushi and we eat there regularly.

Best beer in Tahoe. Also the occasional host of The Oven, which is no doubt the very best pizza Tahoe has to offer and is operated out of a mobile pizza oven. Check the brewery's calendar of events on their website and be sure not to miss this stellar combo of pizza and beer!

Great menu, unique to anything else you'll find here in South Lake; a very good and reasonably priced selection of wines by the glass or bottle (available to go also); and a very nice and comfortable atmosphere that'll make you want to open that bottle on the spot and hang out for a while. Our go-to spot for an adult night out.

Climbing Gyms
Being avid climbers, we need a place to stay strong when the snow is falling, and this is the spot. In addition to both bouldering and roped climbing walls, they provide a full workout area with free weights and a variety of cardio machines. There is also a regular schedule of yoga classes that you can book ahead on their website. (Tip: as members, we receive monthly guest passes that we often don't end up using; no promises here, but don't be afraid to ask us if we have an extra pass or two available for use.)
