Food scene

There is so much to do at the San Antonio Riverwalk. If you love to shop, sight see, and eat this is the place for you. The Riverwalk will give you easy access to the most popular “Go Rio” cruise, the historic Alamo, “Ripley’s Believe it or Not” wax museum, Guinness world record museum, comedy clubs, piano bar, Tower of America and so much more! You won’t be disappointed visiting the San Antonio Riverwalk.

Snooze is a GREAT place to go for breakfast or lunch. You have to try the OMG French Toast. You will say OMG when you taste it. Definitely my favorite! It’s soooo good. There is usually a wait time so make sure you have extra time to spare.

Sightseeing

If you love dinner with a view, you HAVE to check out “Tower of Americas”. If you don’t want to do dinner but still want check out the 360 view of San Antonio you CAN. I believe it’s $14 for a ticket. This will give you access to their 4D movie, which is pretty neat. If you have back issues sit in the very front row. The front seats don’t move like the rest of the theater does. It’s a lot of fun and the kids LOVE it. We saw Rio and Ice Age in 4D. They change the movies periodically. If you are not afraid of heights make sure to take the glass elevator up to the observation deck. You will get a 360 view of San Antonio at an unbelievable 750ft in the air. It’s absolutely beautiful at night.

Amusement Parks

If you love rollercoasters and waterslides Fiesta Texas is the place for you! My absolute favorite roller coaster is poltergeist. It goes from 0-60 MPH upon take off ahhhhh. So much FUN!! Get there early. We get usually arrive when they open and can walk onto ride without a wait for the first couple of hours. If it’s a busy day consider getting a flash pass. It’s so much better than waiting in hour+ lines in the Texas heat.

Entertainment

The AT&T center is the home of the San Antonio Spurs (Basketball) and San Antonio Rampage (Hockey). If you LOVE sports make sure to check out a game while you are in town. I find AWESOME last min, cheap tickets on the apps Tick Pick, Gametime, Seat Geek and Stub Hub. Our most recent ticket score was $27 front row, glass seats to a San Antonio Rampage hockey game. If you haven’t been to a hockey game, GO! The atmosphere is the BEST! While you are at the AT&T center make sure to stop by Rock & Brews for drinks, awesome food (like the San Antonio dog), and their free concert before/after the game. They also have the most popular food trucks in the city selling some pretty awesome and unique food. When we went last they had free face painting for the kids and a few life size games to play like Jinga, connect four and bing bag toss. Oh also make sure to go downstairs to the Charter and Terrance entrance. You will find the Saddle and Spurs eateries. They have full bars and an AWESOME brick oven pizzeria down there. Get the garlic bread! It’s delicious. If you are not into sports but love concerts, the Rodeo or other events be sure to check out their website. There is always something going on at the AT&T center.

The San Antonio is one of the best interactive Zoo’s I’ve been to. There is so much to do. If you love animals make sure to get an experience ticket. Buy your tickets online for a discounted rate. Also check out the experiences before hand. Some experiences need a ticket before or as soon as the gates open. Make sure you know what time your experience is as you will have to be there 15 mins beforehand to take part in experience. There are some packages have have multiple experiences for a great price. Most experiences have a designated time but there are a couple that are all day experiences which is convenient when you don’t want to be on a schedule. The Flamingo Mingle and Lory Landing is included in the Fun Day ticket which has a $5 discount on line. These are my absolute FAVORITE! Feeding the flamingos is such an amazing experience. They are so beautiful and gentle birds. The Lory Landing is a top favorite too. You walk into the Lorikeet enclosure with little cups of nectar. The Lorikeets will land on you and eat their nectar. You won’t be disappointed visiting the San Antonio Zoo. **Some of the experiences too keep in mind: are behind the scenes with Hippo, Okapi, Rhinos and Tortoise, Kangaroo krossing, Butterfly Flight School, Flamingo Mingle, Giraffe feeding, Lory Landing, zoo train, zootennial carousel. They also have a few breakfast dine-in’s with the animals which include an all you can eat breakfast and food to feed the giraffes and hippos.
