"We are in town visiting, and barbecue is not a style of restaurant from where we live. The fried mushrooms were out of this world, and the brisket platter was phenomenal. The corn bread is delicious, and the sides were awesome! We ordered the cucumber salad and the Mac and cheese, both were extremely satisfying! Our waitress Micha, Was energetic, attentive, and recommended great tasting items for us! Great service and all around phenomenal place."

Located on the former CSX railway, the Legacy Trail runs about ten miles from Culverhouse Park in Sarasota to the Venice Train Depot. It crosses through Oscar Scherer State Park, over Dona Roberts Bays as well as a nifty bridge over US 41 at the Venice Bypass. This smooth paved trail is a safe route for bikers and walkers and is fairly scenic along most of it's length. There are shady rest spots along the way, water fountains, and protected crossings at Laurel and Colonia Roads. Another biking trail connects the Venice Train Depot to Caspersen Beach in South Venice. The Legacy Trail is well used all year around. Access is availa
