Most of our guests arrive on Schiphol Airport, the biggest Airport of the Netherlands. The distance to our Airbnb is about 55 km. The best way to travel, is to rent a car at Schiphol.
Public transport in the Netherlands is good in itself, but very expensive and often there are many transfer moments that cause a lot of delay.
The Eurostat statistical office has calculated that Dutch public transport is the most expensive in Europe (2019)
For the money from a return ticket Maastricht (south) - Groningen (north) you can easily take the plane to Eastern Europe and back. In fact: it is even cheaper.

The Anne Frank House is a writer's house and biographical museum dedicated to Jewish wartime diarist Anne Frank. The building is located on a canal called the Prinsengracht, close to the Westerkerk, in central Amsterdam in the Netherlands.
During World War II, Anne Frank hid from Nazi persecution with her family and four other people in hidden rooms at the rear of the 17th-century canal house, known as the Secret Annex (Dutch: Achterhuis). She did not survive the war but her wartime diary was published in 1947. Ten years later the Anne Frank Foundation was established to protect the property from developers who wanted to demolish the block.
The museum opened on 3 May 1960. It preserves the hiding place, has a permanent exhibition on the life and times of Anne Frank, and has an exhibition space about all forms of persecution and discrimination. In 2013 and 2014, the museum had 1.2 million visitors and was the 3rd most visited museum in the Netherlands, after the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum.

Another adventurous way to discover Hosterworld is by safari. In the Horsterwold you can make a Big Five safari, where you will look for beavers. You can discover the habitat of the beaver by canoe and you will reach places you would not normally visit. During The Big Five safaris, you and a forest ranger will look for one of the five large wild animals in the Netherlands: roe deer, boar, beavers, red deer or seals.
De Zevensprong play forest is a wonderful place where children can climb, clamber, build huts and walk over a rope bridge. There are also special "witch and pirate routes" where the children receive all kinds of fun assignments from the booklets "The Pirates of Seawalt" and "The Witches of Seawalt." You will find the play forest next to the Staatsbosbeheer work shed, at Groenewoudseweg 7 in Zeewolde.w

The Hulkestein Forest is a nature reserve of approximately 1000 hectares in the Dutch municipality of Zeewolde.
The Hulkestein Forest is a young forest area, created after the reclamation of Flevoland. The soil consists of clay, sand and peat. After the reclamation, the course of the former river Laak became visible. The original course of this river was restored and now, as Laakse Slenk, ensures the supply of water to the Hulkesteinse Bos. During the excavation work, the remains of a cog from the Middle Ages and the remains of prehistoric settlement were found on this site. A swampy forest is developed by watering the area.

Although the park has (limited) access for cars and public transport, cycling is the preferred means of transport. Remarkably, at several places in the park there are depots for so-called white bicycles. These bicycles can be used free of charge, but cannot be locked and are not allowed to leave the park. In addition, there are many footpaths, which people are not allowed to deviate from since 1 January 2016.
About a third of the park is not open to the public, to allow wildlife and other animals to rest. Those areas do have wildlife observation posts.
Besides the museums, there are all kinds of facilities and activities in the park, such as wildlife safaris and children's scavenger hunts. A coach parking area near the Visitor Centre and Park Restaurant and a large children's playground provide facilities for school and other group tours.
