Here are my favorite local things to see in Old Town and favorite new museums in DC
The George Washington Masonic National Memorial
101 Callahan DriveSee the home of Alexandria's most famous resident: George Washington.
His Mount Vernon estate is just 8 miles south of Alexandria and is accessible by car, bike, boat or bus.
Tour George Washington's Mansion, visit his four gardens, meet his farm animals and see where Washington made whiskey. There is also a museum and education center to explore.
