You come for the smell of the sea, the fresh sourdough bread, the fresh seafood, the wild sea lions, the Ghirardelli chocolate, a Bay Cruise or trip to Alcatraz, and maybe a tour of a battleship. Offers a 3-mile gentle hike around the top, and spectacular views of the Bay Area. Also be sure to visit

Once you break out of the trees over Stinson Beach there is a small parking area, but you can also stop anywhere along the road. You could easily spend two full days here and not see and do everything this science museum has to offer. There is also a completely-in-the-dark walk/crawl/climb through experience that is amazing, and very worth doing, called the Tactile Dome. That experience usually requires reservations in advance. ALSO visit the nearby historic Haight Street shopping district, where there is still a feel of the 1960s, AND when you are done at the end of the day wrap things up down at the Beach Chalet for a beer, good food and a view of the ocean (see my listing under Food)

There are also other Henry's Hunan's around the city, use your favorite search engine to find them.

[1 of the TOP 10 Things to See and Do in the SF Bay Area] Well, this one is actually a bit outside the Bay Area. It can take a good two hours to get there, and that isn't during Rush Hour. But if you have the time, it's beautiful and worth it. Look for my listings that begin with [Monterey], including the Monterey Bay Aquarium, 17 Mile Drive, historic Carmel-By-The-Sea, and Monterey Bay Kayaks.
