Child/family friendly beach, packed with locals and tourists. There are restaurants and beach bars that are open all day and all night. You can hire out paddle-skis, go skiing, etc. To get there, the taxi/car journey is about 10-15 minutes.

You can hire beach chairs and umbrellas for the day, which is a must. Sometimes there are waves, so if you have little kids, you need to watch them. If anyone has seen the movie, Captain Corelli's Mandolin', you will recognize this beach.

You can hire beach chairs and umbrellas for the day, which is a must. Sometimes there are waves, so if you have little kids, you need to watch them. If anyone has seen the movie, Captain Corelli's Mandolin', you will recognize this beach.
Assos is about 15 minutes from Myrtos Beach, so if you're at Myrtos for the day, you should go to Assos for an hour or so, or to have a meal. It is a tiny little town but very quaint and there are two great local restaurants here.

Fiskardo is a a port town and it is absolutely stunning. Loads of yachts stop off here, on their way to the other places in Cephalonia, so you will see people from many different countries here. The shops are also very quaint but it is an expensive little town but a must see.

Argostoli is the main town of Cephalonia. To get here from Lixouri, you take the ferry across from the Lixouri Port, which takes about 15-20 minutes. There are ferries running every half hour in Summer. Argostoli is great for shopping for yourself or for gifts. It has a great night life too, with loads of bars to choose from. It's a busy town at night.
