I wanna see/do something special that I will find or can do only in Lyngen.
This water has become more and more popular to visit, both for tourists and norwegians. You can go up there on skiis in wintertime (obviously the water is frozen then and you won't see it- but it's a very nice trip), and on foot in summertime. There is a parking spot right where the trail starts, and the parking area is just a 10 minute drive from our apartment.

During the Arctic Whisky experience, one of the qualified staff members will guide you through the process of Arctic Whisky production. You will gain an insight into the mysterious past of Viking Age drinking customs, making moonshine in Northern Norway and learn about hi-tech alcohol production on top of the world. During this exciting guided tour, you will see, feel and smell Arctic ingredients. The full tour includes a complementary tasting glass and a sample. After the tour, you have the option of buying more tastings. It’s also possible to extend your stay, enjoying local cuisine and have a look around our visitor centre.
Practical information:
Guided tours are available Monday to Friday at 13.00 and 14.00 - drop in possible.
The visitor centre is open Monday to Friday 12:00 - 15:00.
Groups: min. 2 persons, maximum 10 persons.
Duration: 45 minutes (excluding additional tastings).
Price for guided tour: NOK 299 per person, including a complimentary tasting glass.
Age limit:
• No limit on tour.
• 20 years for tasting.
The visitor centre and distillery are disability-friendly.

Lyngseidet is the capital of Lyngen. Here you will find two supermarkets, a liquor store, a clothing store, a bank, a grill bar and a gas station. It's a 40 minute drive away from the house.

Go2 Arctic Grill opened 24th of January 2020, and they serve all the fastfood you can imagine. Pizza, burgers, gyros, fries and chicken nuggets. They also have salats and meat-free options. Open Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat from 10AM to 22PM and Sundays from 15PM to 22PM. Located in same building as Spar.

What to do while you're in Lenangsøyra
This is the perfect hike for someone who just would like to get out of the house for an hour or two. You can either drive to the end of the road (1km) and park there, or you can walk there. The trail starts at the end of the road. It's very easy terrain and you'll be walking along the sealine all the way. Takes around 15 minutes. On "Nesset" you can see some very cool rock sculptures shaped by mother nature, and our lighthouse. There is a book inside the mailbox where you can write your name and how many times you've been there that year. Make sure to go when there is a low-tide, or else the trail may be partly covered in water.

In wintertime you can get the opportunity to ride a sleigh pulled bu huskies, they love pulling it and I'm pretty sure you will enjoy the ride. To get here you have to take the ferry from Svensby to Breivikeidet, and then drive around 10 minutes from there.

In summertime you can golf, and in wintertime you can ride with dog-sleds. If you're interested in the golfing-part please check out www.tromsogolf.com. In wintertime you can get the opportunity to ride a sleigh pulled bu huskies, they love pulling it and I'm pretty sure you will enjoy the ride. There is nothing like fishing at night when the sun is setting, and there are no cars or traffic disturbing your peace. However, you do need the national fishing lisence, and a fish-card in order for you to legally fish here. The water is a 10-minute drive away from the house, and there is free parking. For more information on how to get permission to fish, go to www.inatur.no, and in the menu bar on the top right, choose English if needed.

Car is recommended
Three times a week you can take a bus to Lyngseidet, and that same bus will take you home later. It drives past the apartment every monday-, wednesday-, and friday- morning around 08:50 am. You will arrive at Lyngseidet 10AM and it will stop right with the entrance to a very tiny mall with a supermarket, a clothing store,, and a post-office. There is also a liquor store. The bus from Lyngseidet leaves at 12:50PM from the same place as you went off.

A couple minutes away from the apartment there is a factory that fish and produce shrimps of the highest quality. We would highly recommend you try these, we can be of assistance if you want to get your hands on them. Don't hesitate to ask.
