Sightseeing

It's a neat little place, lots of Milwaukee related shops, restaurants and coffee houses. It's located on the edge of the '3rd Ward' which is the nicer bars, restaurants and night life.

Beautiful building. It's a major focus on the Milwaukee shore line. The buildings 'wings' move at 10am, noon, and 5pm. It's right on the lake shore so you can access it while checking out the marina.

Nightlife

This is one of the major bar strips in Milwaukee. Typically a college aged crowd throughout the week. On weekends it's for all ages. If you get bored here, you can walk to the Old World 3rd St bars just across the river. - Bar None - It's a hole in the wall bar. The owner is Amy, she's pretty cool. Be nice or she'll beat you up. - Trinity - It's three bars smushed together. An Irish pub, dance hall and traditional wrap around bar with an outdoor patio. If you don't know it, you can get lost in there. - Harp Irish Pub - My personal favorite, just the right amount of bar, small dance floor, outdoor patio overlooking the river. - Dukes and Scooters - Technically two different bars... but in reality, its the same. Usually a younger, less refined crowd. - Red Rock Saloon - "Country" bar... if you're asking me, that's a stretch. Modern country music, bartenders in underwear, mechanical bull... fun time.

It's a fun part of town. Right next to the Fiserv Forum. Lots of bars and places to eat jammed into three blocks. Right across the river from Water Street. - Brat House - Nice bar, great staff. Food and drinks. - Old German Beer Hall - German style long tables, Liter Steins, hammer-schlagen, amazing German food. - Loaded Slate - Fun bar, nothing special. Giant jenga. - Pub Club - Dance club... very youthful crowd. - Buck Bradley's - Cool old school bar vibe. Lots of wood. - Major Goolsby's - traditional pre or post-game stopping spot after a sporting event. Huge place, food and bars. Not much happening there on non Fiserv event night

Lots of bars. Typically a 30+ crowd. Nice bars, with a little more elegance. There's a jazz bar over here.

Food scene

Amazing pizza. It's like a bunch of stoners made a pizza joint. All kinds of crazy oven bake stuff. Famous for their Macaroni and Cheese slice. If you come in November, you have to get the Thanksgiving slice or your trip really didn't accomplish anything.

Cách đi lại

I recommend Ubers and Lyfts

It's the quickest and easiest way to get around. If you're coming for a festival on the lakefront, I highly recommend ride sharing, you get dropped off as close as possible. Anywhere else in the city is no more than 10min away.

Time of Year Dependent

If you've never been to Milwaukee before, the time of year you choose to come greatly determines the contents of your suitcase. I would check the weather up to the day you are leaving, even then, things can change. Rule of thumb... September-March, have a heavy jacket and hats and gloves. March - June, at least a hoodie and long pants. June - September, you'll need the lightest clothes you can find and also cold weather clothes... weather is super unpredictable, it can be a humid 110* or a chilly 50*.

Festivals.... there are a lot.

Milwaukee is a city that takes full advantage of the Summer months. Our winters can be pretty brutal so when the weather is nice, we pretty much party as much as we can. Milwaukee's unofficial nickname is the 'City of Festivals'. Listed below are the ones that draw the biggest crowds but by no means is this an all inclusive list. - Polish Fest - German Fest - Bastille Days - Festa Italiana - Mexican Fiesta - Summerfest - The Worlds Largest Musical Festival, no joke, check it out. www.summerfest.com - Irish Fest - State Fair - Brew Fest - Pridefest
