Places you can't miss

If you want to spend the day in a beautiful blue lagoon, this is the place to go. You must buy a cocktail inside a pineapple and take a picture with it. It's kind of a tradition! 😁 If you like hiking or camping is also a great choice

Mdina, also known as Malta’s ‘Silent City’, sits atop a hill overseeing many of the neighbouring towns. This small city is fortified and boasts an eclectic mix of medieval and Baroque architecture lining the quaint narrow streets. Take advandadge of it and take amazing pictures to remember your trip (and even use for your portfolio 😁)

The legendary Calypso's Isle described in Homer's Odyssey, Gozo is an idyllic Mediterranean island of quaint fishing villages and peaceful bays. The pastoral landscape features green, rolling hills with a patchwork of small farms that lead down to sandy beaches and small coves. This rural destination feels farther from Malta than the eight-kilometer channel separating the two islands would suggest. I would recommend to take a hop on hop off bus (around 15 euros) so you will have the chance to see as much as posible from the island.

Admiring the hues of blue inside the Blue Grotto is a "must do" in Malta. Also a great place to practice climbing or scuba diving.

Best beaches

One of the fiew sand beaches. It's really cosy, but gets really full of locals in the weekends, so I would go during the week. The restaurant just up the beach is great and the view amazing.

Just minutes away from the flat. It is hard to get used to the hard Maltese rock beaches... But completely worth it 😁 Sunbathe while you admire the beauty of St. Julian's at the other side of the bay, or just stare into open sea.

Also really close to the flat. Beach known by the name of this restaurant. Service is not amazing, as it is normally inexperienced people, but the food is good and prices are cheap. In the summer they have outdoor jacuzzy and sunbeds, and shisha all year around.

Delving into the postal history of Malta dating back to the rule of the Order of St John in the 16th century, this four-floor museum is a converted Valletta home with a baroque-style exterior in keeping with the earliest exhibits. Opened as recently as 2016 with the support of EU funding, the museum marks pinnacle points in Maltese history of the importance of the postal system, particularly due to Malta’s strategic position during wartime. Suitable for the whole family, the museum has an interactive children’s area accompanied by educational materials and activities. Areas within the gallery are also allocated to temporary exhibitions, showcasing a wide range of art all year.

Today the home of Valletta cruise port, the stunning promenade of Valletta Waterfront was originally built by Grandmaster Pinto for the Knights of St John to use the buildings as stores. A tranquil location away from Valletta’s main centre, this landmark still boasts the original stores, 19 of which have been converted into restaurants hosting an array of cuisines to suit all budgets, offices and unique shops. Awash with bright colours cleverly representing the type of produce originally stored in each building, the pedestrianised waterfront makes for a perfect location for relaxation accompanied with great food and drink.

An important performing arts venue in Valletta, the Manoel Theatre is reported to be one of Europe’s oldest working theatres. It has an oval-shaped auditorium with three tiers of wooden boxes decorated with gold leaf, and a pale blue trompe-l’oeil ceiling resembling a round cupola. It has retained many of its architectural features despite multiple alterations over the years and is a very beautiful building. The theatre still presents shows in both English and Maltese, including opera, pantomime and musicals.
