The Utah Shakespeare Festival is widely recognized as one of the best professional theater events in the nation; in 2000, it was awarded the Tony Award for "Outstanding Regional Theater." The festival is a grand event that includes not only Shakespeare and contemporary productions, but also the "Greenshow", literary seminars, classes and intimate detailed backstage tours.

The Southern Utah Museum of Art, on the campus of Southern Utah University, features the artwork of regional artists known for their landscapes, faculty and student artists from the SUU Department of Art & Design, as well as emerging and distinguished artists from around the country. Strengths of the nearly 2,000-object permanent collection include the body of work by Jimmie F. Jones that exemplifies his notable career in the region, as well as a robust collection of prints featuring well-known artists such as Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Salvador Dalí, Katsushika Hokusai, Thomas Hart Benton, and others. Part of the Beverley Taylor Sorenson Center for the Arts, which also includes the Utah Shakespeare Festival, SUMA is free and open to the public.

The Pub is one of my favorite places in Cedar City. They have super healthy menu options, they work fast, the food is great, and the experience is consistent. Highly recommend the Pub to locals, anyone passing through, etc. Quick lunch, fresh sandwiches, awesome salads, etc.

This is one of the best places to eat in Cedar City. The food is always consistent and the owner is very kind. Whichever curry you decide to get, you have to try the garlic bread with it! This place is amazing!

I love this little place. It is one of Cedar City's treasures. I love their iced coffee, lavender macaroons, quiches, and hot buttery croissants. But who am I kidding...I love everything in this tiny cafe that is always teeming with ambiance and flavor.

Sightseeing
Awesome hike! Would recommend water shoes. There are multiple ladders that you will climb. It is very pretty but it can be a little tricky in a few parts

Cedar Breaks is always an incredible experience. In the winter it's great for cross country skiing or snow shoeing. In the summer it's fun to hike around, see the views, and attend the Flower Festival. In the fall I love to drive through and see the colorful leaves. Perks: the national park pass will get you in for free. Great place to tire children out or to show visiting relatives. The bathrooms are also decent to use. Warnings: Pay attention to weather, it can get windy and cold.

Zion National Park is downright magical. Depending on the time of year, parts of the park can be very densely populated, so if you're looking for a little more alone-time on the trails, particularly the most popular ones like Angel's Landing (absolutely breathtaking by the way), you may wish to plan your visit for the winter season when temperatures are a bit lower but tourism is also down.
Bryce Canyon National Park, a sprawling reserve in southern Utah, is known for crimson-colored hoodoos, which are spire-shaped rock formations. The park’s main road leads past the expansive Bryce Amphitheater, a hoodoo-filled depression lying below the Rim Trail hiking path. It has overlooks at Sunrise Point, Sunset Point, Inspiration Point and Bryce Point. Prime viewing times are around sunup and sundown.
