BART is the local subway, only a 3m walk away
You'll need to get a subway card at the machines out front. The West Oakland station near my place is a little rowdy, though, and the machines are kind of complicated. Budget some time to stand there and feel confused while ignoring random people hanging out. :)

Lyft and uber are plentful, use them
If you've got some spare cash, Lyft and Uber serve the area REALLY well. They show up really quickly to the property because it's so close to a major Bart station.
