Do note that wet markets in Singapore generally don't open on Mondays and operate only till noon.

Northern Chinese cuisine anyone? Northern Chinese might be a little foreign to some, and makes use of spices such as cumin, sesame, chilli, and can be quite different from common everyday Chinese fare.
This spot has skewers that is charcoal roasted right on your table, and you can even get a whole shoulder of lamb (highly recommended!)
Sited in the gloriously seedy and vibrant Geylang, it's worth a visit for the delicious food, and sticky beak into Singapore's 'underbelly' town.
Restaurant is open till 6am, and decorated in a bizarre but fascinatingly kitsch manner reminiscent of a colour-blind nanna on crack.

Great little wine bar with good selection at non-crazy prices. Simple food to line your stomach before a night of indulgence.
It is a chain across Singapore (plus some other parts of Asia), and for a fuller selection, its big brother locations at Robertson Walk are a cooler bet.

Structured like a speakeasy, this cool little joint serves beautifully made cocktails. Pricey, but a nice way to start off the night.
The mysterious little bar has no signage, and you just have to push open the door to the side to gain entry.
