This is a fantastic spot! It was here where Selma Lagerlöf made all the animals met before they took off for their eternal journey through Sweden. And for centuries these highest cliffs of any Swedish coast have guarded the entry into the Öresund, the Street between Denmark and Sweden the most important entry into the Baltic Sea. Kullaberg Naturereserve is one of Swedish finest and spectacular ones and its beauty is famous: The blue sea deep below and age-old oak trees and lofty forests guide you to the highest point where the famous Kulla Lighthouse stands. Right next to it a nice little museum which is particularly attractive for children dealing with fauna and flora of the Kulla area. A must see - just 35 minutes drive from Villa Vindasen.

Arild is one of Sweden's most pitoresque fisher villages. It is just a 25 min drive from Villa Vindasen. Thatch roofed wooden fisherman houses nestle around the little harbour and up the hill high above. A typical Skane church all in white with stair gable, cobblestone streets and roses, roses, roses in the small but cozy gardens ... are a delight. Stroll along the stony beach and hike up to the small catholic chapel St. Arild high above the village and back. When you pass Rusthallargard - go for a typical Swedish lunch on the roof terasse high above Skälderviken bay...

If there is to be a typical yet beautiful Skane church - then Brunnby church would be my favorite choice. Amidst a sleepy churchyard with famous Captain's graves under giant old trees you find a truly romantic white church with red clay tiles and stair gables outside and illustrous mediaval paintings inside and an acoustic that you will never forget once you hear the organ play... you will be captured by the peace and atmosphere of this place...

A splendid park, a romantic water castle with white stars around its windows, a cultural barn with performances in Summer and a truly wonderful little garden cafe ... that is Krapperup and you will love it ...

Torekov is Bastads cozy and sleepy sister. It is so sleepy that in Summer true Torekov'ians don't even dare to get dressed to go swimming from the cliffs. They simply bike or walk through the village in their bathrobe for a morning or evening swim. Very likely that they will stop here and there for a casual talk with some friends or acquintances ... The little harbour during Summer is a famous stop-over for sailing boats and such is the atmosphere on long, endless, summer evenings ... some nice restaurants and bars match up the buzz ... always nice to go but particularly recommendable for a sundowner walk and drink ...

Ängelholm is a small town with 20.000 inhabitants. It is located on the shores of the first large bay of the Swedish West Coast named Skälderviken. It has everything you need to manage a vacation or stay at Villa Vindasen with regards to supply of food, drinking and ordinary shoping. There is a small movie theatre, a pedestrian zone with a decent number of shops including a very recomendable bakery (Sjöholms), a bookstore (Akademie Bokhandel), several banks, ICA (supermarket), Systembolaget (Sweden's wine&beer monopol stores) as well as some restaurants, cafes and ice parlours. There is a Maxi ICA outside town near the E4 motorway. However, for restaurants we usually recommend other towns (i.e. Bastad, Torekov on the northern side of Skälderviken and Arild and Mölle on the southern side of Skälderviken). There is one local exception if one is keen on enjoying a splendid sunset and doesn't want to drive to one of the listed villages/small towns: Klitterhus hotel & restaurant right on Ängelholm beach.
