It is recommended that you call listed businesses in advance for their hours and days open. Many do offer curbside, carryout and outdoor dining on Solomons Harbor. According to Maryland's DNR, oyster season runs October 1st to March 31st and crab season, April to December 1st.

Sightseeing & Adventures
If you are not coming by boat or renting a boat during your stay, it's highly recommended that you drive across the Patuxent River for the astounding water views. As you go across the Gov. Thomas Johnson Bridge into St. Mary's county, look right/North and view the expansive Patuxent River. As you come back across the bridge, look right and see all of Solomons Island and the base of the river as it meets the Chesapeake Bay. After you cross the bridge back into Calvert County, take a right, follow sign into Solomons Island and drive the island to the end (becomes one way) and enjoy the different views of the Pax River from the island.

Perfect hiking for all levels that end at the sandy Chesapeake Bay, only a 10 minute drive from Rousby Hall. Kids will enjoy hunting for sharks teeth along the beach.
