At the Mercato Central you can buy food at the stands on the ground floor, or stop for lunch or dinner in the food court area upstairs. I would recommend this place because there's nothing similar in town.

Having lunch here is a very nice experience. Trattoria da Rocco is located in the Sant'Ambrogio market and it's traditional and informal. Highly recommended!

The Schiacciata is a typical florentine bread which is commonly use for delicious sandwiches. It's filled with tuscan ham or salami, local cheeses, vegetables and saouces, perfect with a glass of red wine. It's good, it's cheap and it's truly tuscan. Schiacciavino is one of the best place to try, also because the staff is very nice.
