Music
Many of our guest love to visit the BRMC. Saturday evening summer concerts fill the mountain air with music in the most beautiful setting! Pack a picnic and enjoy the evening! The Music Center also hosts mid-day live music daily from noon until 4 p.m. Local musicians are always happy to share their talents with our visiting friends.

The historic Rex Thratre in downtown Galax host the Blue Ridge Backroads Live Show each Friday evening beginning at 7 p.m. Old-Time and Bluegrass music bands are typically featured.

Recreation
The New River Trail State Park is a wonderful asset to our communities. Formally a railroad line for Norfolk-Southern, the trail is a mostly flat 57 mile trail. It's great for hiking, jogging, and biking! The trail follows along side Chestnut Creek and eventually the New River. There are many access points to the trail. Our family's favorite area of the trail is from the Gambetta access to Fries Junction...simply stunning scenery!

Cumberland Knob is a short four miles from our cabins. It features two hiking trails...one short, one a two mile strenuous trail. On a clear day you can see Pilot Mountain! This area is great for picnics and relaxing!

Grayson Highlands State Park is an hour drive from our cabins but so worth the drive!! Mount Rogers, the highest peak in Virginia is nearby. There are many hiking trails at Grayson Highlands, some even connect to the Appalachian Trail. Wild ponies can be seen on some of the trails. The views at Grayson Highlands are amazing and breathtaking! Pack a picnic and enjoy the day!

Sightseeing
Many of our guests enjoy visiting downtown Mt. Airy, North Carolina. It's a thirty minute drive from our cabins and is the hometown of Andy Griffith! Lots of Andy Griffith themed stores can still be found there including Opie's Candy Shoppe, Floyd's Barbershop, Barney's Diner, and the famous Snappy Lunch! You can even do a tour of "Mayberry" in a restored Andy Griffith Sherriff car!
