There's some cool stuff to see, and museum activities when they are open, like Shasta State Historic Park Courthouse Museum.

Downtown Redding transit
There's a railroad track that crosses through the middle of town. Sometimes the train will stall on the tracks and that can be annoying, because it isn't always a problem, but when it is, it's REALLY annoying.
The best way to avoid getting jammed up by this is to cut over to Eureka Way/299 before you get to the center of town so that you can just take the overpass right over the tracks :)
