A moderate, 5km walking track which was once used as a firebreak. It starts at the Boorara tree, which was used as a fire lookout until 1977. As you approach the Falls, the track descends steeply before you emerge at the look out point to see the steep granite falls.

Understory is a unique art in nature experience. Artworks are located along a 1.2km walking trail through pristine native forest. Sculptures, stories, poetry and music explore relationships with nature.

Small, volunteer run museum has an outstanding collection of original items used by the Group Settlers more than 80 years ago, illustrating their life and work on the dairy farms, on which the district of Northcliffe was founded. There is also a display of aboriginal tools used over the past 8000 years, fossils from 3000 million years ago and a collection of rocks and minerals from around Australia and the world. The exhibition also houses a photographic record of all of the native wildflowers growing in Northcliffe.

A beautiful section of the Warren River with spectacular rock pools under the thick karri, jarrah and marri forest. The crossing is a popular spot for 4WDs to cross the river in summer months, when the water levels are low.

Cascades is a great place to visit year round. In simmer, it is a cool, shady spot for a picnic and in winter, the Lefroy Brook is an impressive sight tumbling over the Cascades. There is a 1.2km walk track (quite steep in parts but our toddler can manage it by himself) with interpretive ranger signs along the way.

***CURRENTLY CLOSED DUE TO COVID***• Open Thursdays and Fridays from 10-3, watch the Bannister Downs girls get milked, and the milk being processed, all from the viewing gallery in the brand new state-of-the-art “Creamery”. There is also an excellent café to grab morning tea or lunch while you are there. We recommend trying to get there early, as though the cows decide when they want to be milked, there tend to be lots of ladies lining up mid-morning!
