A pretty Surrey Village

A great circular walk from Epsom downs with a coffee stop by the pond or a trip to one of the local pubs. Try the Fox and Hounds.

Easy to get to by train or bus...about 10 minutes away. Once there go to the Leatherhead Museum then walk down Bridge St and go for one of the river walks. Go up to Fetcham Downs and even visit Brockets Farm (more of a children's attraction). Plenty of cafes and restaurants in and around.

Great views and a good work out of a walk

Great views and an interesting but quite challenging walk. Take the bus to Box Hill or train to West Humble and walk up the steep hill

An old market town within 20 minutes by train from Epsom. There are many circular walks from here and even a book called The Walks near Dorking which I can lend you

Food scene

A treat of a day out. Take the train to Leatherhead or the bus and take a walk of about a mile up to the Beaverbrook estate. The hotel has been refurbished and kept many of the old features and history of Lord Beaverbrook. My favourite is to go for afternoon tea but do the one hour walk beforehand. You will need to book. It also offers an extremely good Japanese restaurant and a more traditional Garden House restaurant where they also do cookery courses for half a day. All needs to be booked in advance.
