The hike from Beckenried and through/over the Risleten Gorge to Treib is panning. From the Risleten Gorge you hike through a lot of forest and under rock bands and repeatedly catch unexpected beautiful views of the lake and the surrounding mountains.

Hence, at the "Rütli" where the "Rütli-Oath" happend - it was actually part of the Swiss history where Switzerland was formed (by the three cantons: Uri, Schwyz & Unterwalden). If you want to visit true Swiss history - this is the place (only 10 mins car-ride from Emmetten).
