Parks & Nature
You can walk from Swartvlei Beach to Gericke's point. It's a great walk with rock pools and views. To get there, take the road at the bottom of the hill on the Wilderness side of Swartvlei (by Sedgefield Links golf course)

Take the Buffelsbaai turn-off from the N2. It's about 12kms from Sedgefield on the way to Knysna. Watch out for Goukamma National Park entrance on your right. There are braai and picnic facilities, but we go there mainly to walk the marvellous Bushpig Trail. It's easy other than a short uphill bit near the beginning. You start with a pont ride over the river, go up the hill to your right, into a deep and dark milkwood forest with amazing plant life, and then along a stretch of beach and coastal scrub. These are all different vegetation areas.

Goukamma Nature Reserve
Take the Buffelsbaai turn-off from the N2. It's about 12kms from Sedgefield on the way to Knysna. Watch out for Goukamma National Park entrance on your right. There are braai and picnic facilities, but we go there mainly to walk the marvellous Bushpig Trail. It's easy other than a short uphill bit near the beginning. Dogs are allowed off-leash to the right of the stairs that lead to the beach - to the left is a protected breeding area of the endangered Black Oystercatcher. Going to the right, you can walk 2.5kms with your dogs to Cola Beach in Sedgefield. Without dogs you can walk an extra 500m and have coffee or a meal at Pili Pili at Myoli Beach
