I recommend using Google maps or Waze to find the best route and parking. "ParkMobile" is a Parking app that's needed on your smart phone, if you decide to park on the street, rather than a parking garage (better value).

A 36 minute drive West, takes you to the Shark Valley Observation Tower, which allows you to see the Everglades National Park from a bird's eye view. There are trams and trails to see birds, fish, and gators.

A trendy neighborhood, North East of here. Interesting restaurants, high-end boutiques, some tourist sites as well. I recommend going in daytime, as there have been some problems lately with late-night events.

Buy a cigar, watch people playing dominoes, have a 'cafecito' and walk down sw 8th street to experience it all. Some of my favorites: Cuban Memorial Boulevard park on SW 13th ST. Ball & Chain is a famous local bar that offers live music and dance shows on certain nights.

Metrorail offers an inexpensive tour of Miami
"Metrorail" is the only elevated train service in Miami. It will cost $5.65 for a one-day pass. You can see many neighborhoods from an elevated view. It has stops in the notable neighborhoods of: Dadeland, University of Miami, Brickell, Downtown, Airport. Best place to Park ($4.50 inside a garage) is at Dadeland North Station.
