Famous for its antique shops, Sunday markets, restaurants and shopping. This town is lively all year. Known as the Venice of Provence it has many canal-side restaurants and bars. For restaurants I particularly favour Le Vivier (brilliant and pricey, one Michelin star), Renaud'mets (medium) and Bistrot L'industrie (cheap and great wood-fired pizzas). Chez Serge is great in Carpentras and there are many restaurants to try all over.

L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue

One of the most visited tourist spots in France, famous for its spring (fifth biggest in the world) which just appears as an overflowing lake above the top of the town, coming right out the mountainside. Expect to pay for parking. restaurants not as good as many other towns as too touristy though Restaurant Philip is very nice by the water side on the wak up to the spring.
