One of the less known large museums in Amsterdam with impressive international expositions and themes, check out the current exposition online or just look at the billboards on the museum. Great to visit if you have been to van Gogh and Stedelijk museum and it is just around the corner.
Personal opinion: Netherlands, like other European countries has a colonial history where a lot of pain was caused in slave trade and colonisation. Be aware that this museum and institute own pieces that belong to those countries and in my opinion should be returned to the countries of origin. luckily recently pieces have been returned.

This is where Rembrandt actually lived! The portrets look alive and more real than pictures. Not to crowded and a great way to see the masters work and house.
