Set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, West Wittering Beach is a large and sandy beach located at the entrance to Chichester Harbour. Proud holders of the Blue Flag Award for cleanliness and safety when it is patrolled by lifeguards in the summer months, it is a wonderful area for a traditional bucket and spade day out or as a starting point winter walk around East Head. Throughout the day, either to eat in or as a takeaway, the Beach Cafe serves an appetising range of hot and cold food.

Visit Chichester Cathedral, it's impressive Romanesque structure has been standing since 1075. While you're there you'll probably notice the remarkably city walls that circle the town centre, over three quarters of the original Roman structure survives today, more than 1,800 years after it was constructed.
As well as the visiting the cathedral, the centre of Chichester has a lot to offer with a variety of shops, restaurants and cafes to explore.

Walks
From the car park take the signed path on the bend in the road into the wood. Follow the path bearing right at the first junction. Continue up the hill through the woods to the path junction with open views on the right. From this point you can either turn left and head to Goosehill Camp or continue straight on turning right at the next junction towards the Devil’s Humps and the remainder of the Hidden Landscape Trail which depending on the route you take can add another 7km to your walk taking in the beautiful South Downs National Park.

Halnaker Mill
From the car park take the signed path on the bend in the road into the wood. Follow the path bearing right at the first junction. Continue up the hill through the woods to the path junction with open views on the right. From this point you can either turn left and head to Goosehill Camp or continue straight on turning right at the next junction towards the Devil’s Humps and the remainder of the Hidden Landscape Trail which depending on the route you take can add another 7km to your walk taking in the beautiful South Downs National Park.
