Food Scene
This pub has a superb restaurant with excellent food, booking is recommended. The bar good is also very good, and dogs are allowed in the bar.
They do really great food, have a lovely cosy fire, not the cheapest but great for a nice meal. Dogs are allowed in the bar, but not the restaurant. They provide dog biscuits on the bar! They are situated right on Canada Common and you can park in the car park, take your dog for a walk on the Common, and then have a lovely meal or coffee in the pub.

This is one of our favorite places for a gorgeous coffee and cake, or a light lunch. Set in very lovely gardens with indoor or outdoor seating. Dogs are allowed. Just about 10 minutes up the road - highly recommended!!

This is a lovely, family run Garden Centre with knowledgeable, friendly staff - Chris (the owner) is usually around and always friendly and helpful. His wife runs the fabulous 'Shed' cafe with the best home-made cakes in the County (in my expert opinion - and I've eaten a LOT of cakes.... ;-) ) The Shed cafe has a gorgeous woodburning stove to relax beside, as well as a selection of gifts and crafts available for sale.

The Parish Lantern is a friendly village pub. They do good food at a reasonable price. Dogs are welcome. There is a pool table, and some outside space where kids can run about in the summer.

The famous Lions of Longleat really must be seen. The animals here all have great living spaces and are well cared for. You can hand feed the beautiful deer, take a boat trip on the river to see hippos. A great family day out.

This is a beautiful setting where you can learn wakeboarding, paddle boarding, canoeing, or just be entertained by the experienced wakeboarders' tricks and spectacular jumps. You can get tea/coffee and they usually have a burger/chip van there too. They also have a Wibit park which is terrific fun.

This is an absolutely fantastic Country Park - great for groups catering for different generations - plenty of outside activity for children of all ages, with a forest play trail, a little train, smaller climbing equipment for little children, lovely lakes and acres of woodland for bike rides, dog walks, hiking, bird watching, also a lovely cafe if someone in the group just wants to take it easy and enjoy a coffee while the others charge about!! You can bring your own picnic.

This is a great place to get your fruit & veg, a genuinely quaint and traditional family run shop. There are often chickens and pigs to be seen, although this is not a place where you can pet the animals - it is a working farm, if you are lucky you will meet Joan who runs the shop in all weathers, and always has a friendly word and a smile for everyone.

Arts & Culture
The majestic and iconic Cathedral of Salisbury never fails to impress, even though we've lived with it all our lives. It is really stunning, sitting within the Close, and its grounds. It is free for all to enter, you may make a donation if you wish. It also has a cafe within the Cloisters. You can enjoy a picnic in the grounds, or visit one of the many museums in the Close. If you're reasonably fit and not too scared of heights, you can take a tour of the spire!

The majestic and iconic Cathedral of Salisbury never fails to impress, even though we've lived with it all our lives. It is really stunning, sitting within the Close, and its grounds. It is free for all to enter, you may make a donation if you wish. It also has a cafe within the Cloisters. You can enjoy a picnic in the grounds, or visit one of the many museums in the Close. If you're reasonably fit and not too scared of heights, you can take a tour of the spire!
National Trust building well worth a visit in the Cathedral Close of Salisbury. Nice cafe here too.
