Hamilton may see a variety of sightings within its city limits: moose, elk, deer, bunny rabbits and an occasional movie star such a Dutton.
This was the summer home to Marcus Daly, Copper King. His mansion, the Marcus Daly Mansion, has engaging tours daily throughout the summer. Hamilton is also the home to a few local breweries and some great coffee as well.
The summer Saturday Farmers' Market is a big hit with locals and visitors alike. Go for fresh produce, locally made goods and yummy food from a variety of food trucks. You will want to make a morning of it.

It's always worth the 20 minute drive to Darby for some great restaurants, occasional live music, a huge main street store full of everything!, amazing locally made chocolates and more!

Stevensville has more restaurants, bars and coffee shops than you can shake a stick at! And they are good! Check it out. Several evening spots need reservations: The CAtered Table, Mission Bistro and Maria's Italian are all amazing.

Hike, mountain bike, enjoy the outdoors
Check out All Trails for great hiking and mountain biking in the area. There is a bike path along the highway to Missoula. Must do for new visitors: Blodgett Overlook.

This gorgeous lake of 900+ acres about 20 minutes south of Hamilton, is a must see anytime of year. Great paths for biking, trails for hiking, beautiful lake for kayaking and SUP and boating as well as swimming on the warmest days (the water is cold snowmelt!) There is a sweet beach area with picnic tables. It does get very full on the hottest days.
It serves as a source for irrigation in the fall, so is vital for the valley.
It is a National Forest property so has a $5 per vehicle fee, so bring cash or buy a day pass at Lone Pine Conoco on your way out of town.
Also, be aware that there is no cell service at Lake Como, but sometimes at the corner of 93 you can get something.

Great paths for biking, trails for hiking, beautiful lake for kayaking and SUP and boating as well as swimming on the warmest days (the water is cold snowmelt!) Adorable shop for locally made items of all varieties, but also--surprise! A spot to paint pottery! Open painting anytime, pottery available on site for a fee. Pots are fired every Saturday and returned by Tuesday.
