Fourmile Run is a waterfall-rich tributary of Pine Creek in the Pine Creek Gorge Natural Area. The falls can be accessed from either side of the Grand Canyon and the associated parks; Colton Point on the west side and Leonard Harrison on the east side. On the Colton Point State Park side of the canyon, the Turkey Path is narrow, rugged, and runs high above Fourmile Run. Meaning it serves as a mere jumping off point for off-trail exploration of the waterfalls below – exploration that should only be undertaken by experienced hikers with proper footwear! On the Leonard Harrison State Park side, you have a wide, refined Turkey Path that takes you close to most of the waterfalls on Little Fourmile Run. Choose the past best for you, and enjoy the majesty of the many waterfalls. (38 min)

Located in the Pine Creek Valley & the PA Grand Canyon Landscape of the Pennsylvania Wilds, the Arcadia Theatre opened in December 1921 as a one-screen theater that seated 900. Like many theatres of the period – the Arcadia often featured orchestral ensembles during the silent films. By 1929, the theater was offering “talkies.” The Arcadia Theatre reopened in 1997 with a grand renovation in celebration of its 75th year. The state-of-the-art, 4-screen facility preserves the classic look of old-time cinema, while also combining special events and offerings. (40 min)

The Pennsylvania Lumber Museum is a fun and educational experience suitable for all ages. Nestled in the wooded mountains of Potter County, the museum invites visitors to discover the courageous yet reckless spirit of Pennsylvania’s lumbering past while learning to care for the forests of the future. Interactive exhibits in the Visitor Center simulate activities such as swinging an ax, sawing a tree, piloting a log raft and racing locomotives for a hands-on experience with history. Outdoor exhibits located across the 10-acre campus include a re-created early 20th-century lumber camp, a 70-ton Shay geared-locomotive and a Barnhart log loader, and two historic log cabins- one built by the C.C.C. in 1936 and the other constructed in 1961 by outdoor enthusiasts Bob & Dotty Webber. Their operable steam-powered sawmill is run three times a year: at the Spring Show, Bark Peelers’ Festival, and Fall Show events. (30 min)

The Eliot Ness Museum, nestled in the quaint town of Coudersport, celebrates the life and career of Eliot Ness, the infamous leader of the Untouchables — the team of special agents that were integral to bringing the notorious gangster Al Capone to justice. Later in life, Ness settled down with his family in Coudersport until his death in 1957. Founded in 2019, the Eliot Ness Museum currently resides in the very same building Ness held his office in. Don’t miss the annual Elliot Ness Festival July 15-17th, 2022. You might even want to dress up like it’s the 1920’s. (30 min)
