"If they don't have it, you don't need it" is the motto for the LA Grocery. Grab your food items or pick out a drink from the great selection of craft beer in the back coolers. A complete hardware store as well. Has saved us many a trip into TC.

We float down this river a couple of times a year. Amazing float through the dunes and out to Lake Michigan. You can rent tubes or canoes/kayaks from Riverside Canoe Trips. Pack a cooler to enjoy some beverages as you take in the scenery. Reach out to me for some recommendations if you want to try it without renting the equipment.

Just south of the village on Lake Ann road. A nice accessible trail along the creek and then a more rugged loop around the lake. Beautiful hike, our second local go to.

A former meat barons summer get away and then a Girl Scout camp. A lovely hike that includes a path along beautiful Long Lake and around Fern Lake. Neat old farm and camp buildings adorn the property.

Biking
This rail trail has a beautiful nine mile route from Frankfort to Beulah. A more rustic continuation of the trail also goes south to Thompsonville. We love biking this trail especially with Five Shores Brewery at one end and Storm Cloud Brewery at the other end.

826 Michigan AveThis rail trail has a beautiful nine mile route from Frankfort to Beulah. A more rustic continuation of the trail also goes south to Thompsonville. We love biking this trail especially with Five Shores Brewery at one end and Storm Cloud Brewery at the other end.
A great rail trail that goes from Suttons Bay through Traverse City to Acme. Around 27 miles long we typically break it in half and either go to Suttons Bay or to Acme from Traverse City. Park at the south end of the Boardman lake and take the Boardman trail to connect to the Tart for an extra couple of miles. Hop Lot Brewery in Suttons Bay is only a 1/4 mile off the trail. Stone Hound Brewery in Acme is even closer at the eastern end of the trail. Hit the Filling Station right off the trail in downtown TC for a beer and our favorite local Pizza and Salad.
