Climb the gate, take a look on Rose Hill, and follow your walk on Tóth Árpád walking area, along the walls, with a niceview on Buda Hills, specially at sunset. Good departure to distover the Castle district, specially if you took the castle bus 16, with a departure fron Széll Kálmán square.

The close area of my home on the south-east side of the Buda Castelhill includes 3 different quaters: Krisztinaváros cosy streets, Taban park and the Danubian riverbank, and Naphegy the most expensive residential area of Budapest. I propose some leisure possibilities
Krisztinaváros and it's stairs leading to the Castle - I love this aea for it's cosy, friendly, parisien-like quartier ambiance. Discover little cofees, chocolateries, bakeries, fancy and international (Déryné) and family friendly restaurants, vegans (Szelence) or local product selling (Nagymama boltja). Interesting flowershops, bookshops, an art cinema, with original language movies, are waiting to discover. Don't forget the flovering green parks, where free sportgrounds, playgrounds and picnic and walking areas are there to chill out after a sightseeing day. Perfect location to discover the city without hurry.

Krisztinaváros and it's stairs leading to the Castle - I love this aea for it's cosy, friendly, parisien-like quartier ambiance. Krisztinaváros- On the way from my place to the Castle
It is easy to get from my place to the Castle, wether you choose to climb the stairs, or take an elevator or the local public transport. You can contact me, and ask for a tourguided trip, my grandparents lived here, I know every steps, and I am a diplomee tourguide in french and english. If you prefer discover on your own, I give you some orienation points. Any questions? :)
Shortest way from my place to the castle, if you don't mind to climb the stairs. (5-10 min) The last part you can take the elevator as well. Find Sándor Márai, famous writer's statue in Miko street, than Terez Brunswick's portrait. This lady founded the first official kindergarden (on your left at the top of Gránit stairs, in Lovas street) in the time of Sissi Emperesse. Than take a walk on the promennade Tóth Árpád, (view on Buda Hills) or go ahead to Mathias church, and the Fishermen's Bastion. (Beautifull view on the Danube and the city!)
