You can buy scones, jam and Cornish clotted cream to go and enjoy by the seafront - just beware of the seagulls as they too are in on the secret. If scones aren’t your thing, there are plenty of home baked goods to choose from which we can guarantee are all delicious.

You can find our personal favourites at THE CORNISH BAKERY, which have a great selection of vegetarian and vegan options and SARAH’S PASTY SHOP, which have all the classics baked to perfection. All the pasties in Looe are top quality however, so why not try them all?

CATCH is the best option in Looe, offering cod, monkfish and ling (recommend) as well as all the classics. Another worthwhile visit is THE CODDY SHACK which is about a 5 minute drive out of town. Here you can enjoy a fresh seafood platter and chips on the terrace, while taking in the sun and countryside views (highly recommend).

Sightseeing

The impressive view you can see from your window is of course Looe Beach. The perfect place to spend the day pitched up with your towel and brolly. Looe Beach is only a 7 minute walk away (if you’re lucky enough to catch the ferry you can be there in 5). From the house, turn left and make your way over the bridge and through the town leading on to the beach. Just don’t forget to grab a pasty along the way!

The coastal walk from Hannafore Beach to Talland Bay. Looe is completely encompassed by areas of outstanding natural beauty, so grab your walking boots and a camera and make your way towards Marine Drive where the walk begins. Be prepared for a couple of steep hills with some well placed benches, but know that your efforts will be well worth the spectacular scenes and fresh salty air. The complete walk is approximately 5km one way, with plenty of hidden beaches and coves if you want to dip in.
Talland Bay
The coastal walk from Hannafore Beach to Talland Bay. Looe is completely encompassed by areas of outstanding natural beauty, so grab your walking boots and a camera and make your way towards Marine Drive where the walk begins. Be prepared for a couple of steep hills with some well placed benches, but know that your efforts will be well worth the spectacular scenes and fresh salty air. The complete walk is approximately 5km one way, with plenty of hidden beaches and coves if you want to dip in.

If you look out from the master bedroom or stand on the porch, you can pinpoint Rame Head as the furthest possible piece of land you can see in the distance. After a 30 minute drive (35 if you include the photo pitstops), you will arrive at this dramatic headland. Rame Head is surmounted by a medieval chapel with 360 views of the ocean and wild horses which occupy the land.

Fowey is approximately a 30 minute drive west from Looe. It is a beautiful harbour town set in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Here you will find plenty of shops and restaurants to keep you busy.

ACCESS
When arriving, your best option is to drive all the way to the end of Hannafore Lane until you reach the bollards (it will feel a little narrow at times but keep going). Once you’ve reached the bollards you can unload here and carry your bags on foot another 20m where you will find a gate to your left and steps leading up to the house (we are at the top of the steps to the right).
Once you have unloaded, you can begin to reverse from the bollards until you reach an area wide enough for you to 3-point turn. There will be parking available on Hannafore lane about 300m from the house.

SUPERMARKET DELIVERY
If you plan to cook during your stay, we highly recommend scheduling a grocery delivery on the evening of your arrival so you are fully stocked up.
The town is supplied by two small Co-Ops and a farm shop for your basic groceries, but if you require a lot of food, a delivery from any of the larger supermarkets nearby (Waitrose, Sainsburys, Tesco etc) will save you carrying any heavy bags up the hill.
