Some of the best tide pools are here during negative/low tide cycles! You'll see star fish, anemone, hermit crabs, rock crabs, sea otters and maybe even an octopus! We did! Keep a look out for osprey and seals too!

Park in the turnout just north of Thomas Creek Bridge and you’ll find the trailhead to China Beach. It’s approximately 1.5 miles of hiking to the beach. Go at low tide; you may find yourself the only one there on somedays!

Our Favorite Trails and Hikes
Whether you're looking for a trail to walk, hike, or mountain bike, the Southern Oregon Coast delivers first class trails that offer unparalleled scenery and natural settings.
Indian Sands is epic Oregon Coast bluff hiking at its best. The trailhead parking lot is just south of Thomas Creek Bridge (about a 10 minute drive from Easy Living Townhome). Best done during big winter swells but anytime of year will impress! It gets windy on the bluffs so be careful and there is some good cardio on the hike back up to the parking lot!
