This river and its valley have defined Edmonton downtown for decades. Its vast collection of scenic parks is 22 times bigger than New York City’s Central Park. Over 150 kilometers of trails, pathways, and golf courses connect 20 parks, where locals and visitors picnic, bike, run, kayak, canoe, stand-up paddleboard, take a paddle boat or Segway, and, in winter, snowshoe and ski (both cross-country and downhill). There is a lot more fun than you can imagine.

This river and its valley have defined Edmonton downtown for decades. Its vast collection of scenic parks is 22 times bigger than New York City’s Central Park. Over 150 kilometers of trails, pathways, and golf courses connect 20 parks, where locals and visitors picnic, bike, run, kayak, canoe, stand-up paddleboard, take a paddle boat or Segway, and, in winter, snowshoe and ski (both cross-country and downhill). There is a lot more fun than you can imagine.
Just east of the city is the Elk Island National Park. This is Canada’s largest fully enclosed park and is a refuge for moose, elk, lynx, black bears, gray wolves, 250 species of birds, and herds of plains bison imported from Montana and rescued from extinction.

This is a relatively new neighbourhood in Southwest part of the city. Our neighbourhood boasts an abundance of green space, with many kilometers of paved paths which also connect with the Blackmud Creek Ravine trails.
Also, the community enjoys an outdoor skating rink and other fun activities near the K-9 school nearby.
There are many amenities within a couple of minutes' drive at the Heritage Valley Town Center, including restaurants, grocers, and personal services.
