It's also right next to the beach, so make sure to head back for some time on the sand behind the Sandpearl hotel right next door (gorgeous...and they have a great fire pit for a glass of wine at sunset).

If you love local coffee spots over Starbucks, this is a great coffee shop just a short couple minute drive from the house in Belleair. (Starbucks is walkable by about 10-15mins.) If going to Belleair Coffee Company, take the direction option in google maps that takes you the back way through the neighborhoods (Jasmine Way to Druid Rd) instead of the Ft Harrison route for the prettier neighborhood scenery. Fair warning for tea lovers, they do not have a chai tea latte, sadly.

If you're looking for a fun but casual beach bar overlooking the water, Palm Pavilion is a very popular spot. Definitely drive there, too far to walk, but not far from the house at all. It's right across a parking lot from Frenchy's Rockaways which is a great drinking hole and local, casual beach eatery. All are pretty family friendly during the daytime and early evening hours before turning more into a bar scene at night.

It's definitely worth the drive if you have a spare day. Tons of art galleries, foodie restaurants, waterfront cafes and parks, the new waterfront Pier, etc.
