We love the food at Galyn's - my son swears it has the best lobster bisque he has ever had. While the interior is a little dated, great food and if lucky to sit by a window, great views.

For a great Bar Harbor experience, eat outside at Stewman’s. The one to visit is in downtown Bar Harbor. No reservations, but the place is huge and lines will form but they move quickly. Sit on picnic tables near the water with pretty views. Our family always goes to Stewman’s at least once a visit.

They are famous for nationwide shipping! They are in the heart of Southwest Harbor and they are on the waterfront with some pretty views.
On the other side of the island, if you are out and about we ALWAYS go to Thurston’s. Quintessential Maine Lobster pound and pretty famous around these parts. Absolutely the freshest lobsters in every size. Not fancy but they have a full bar and great food! Visit them when you go to Bass Harbor or want to see the other side of the island!

They also offer the Bar Harbor to Winter Harbor Ferry where you can enjoy the quieter side of Acadia National Park. Bike riders often enjoy this area and will bring their bikes on the ferry. This is also the place where you can catch a ferry and visit Winter Harbor. Another popular ferry option is the Cranberry Cove Ferry. All trips do a loop between Southwest Harbor, Islesford (Little Cranberry Island), and Great Cranberry Island. You can explore each island at no extra charge. All details are on the website.

Very popular with guests that have kids. They are the only lobster boat tour in Bar Harbor hosted on a traditional Downeast-style lobster boat. It is a 2-hour lobster boat ride where you learn all about Maine lobsters and they catch them. We took our kids on this cruise when they were little and our son who was 9 at the time loved it!! You also enjoy get to enjoy beautiful views of the Egg Rock Lighthouse and often see seals!
