Boneheads has the best BBQ brisket north of Texas, pure and simple! The sausage is more of a Kansas City style, but not bad. I recommend getting a combo plate, but you can also ask for a pound of brisket and a link of sausage to take home. Also grab a side each of potato salad and coleslaw, and don't forget the sauces! The above will set you back about $50 but will be well worth it.

Why am I recommending a hotel for dining? Because the Westin Nova Scotian has a surprisingly good team putting out excellent food in unexpected places like the hotel bar!

Right across the street, so it is convenient. Although this is a private club, you may be served here as my guest (ask me for the code to get in)--just say you are Dan's guest from the Airbnb across the street. I recommend the pan-fried haddock, a Nova Scotia tradition not to be missed.

I've always thought this was just an average restaurant, but a number of guests have eaten here and really like it--one couple ate there twice in the same day!

Despite significant damage from Hurricane Juan in 2003, Point Pleasant Park is still a great destination for a "walk in the park". Portions of the trail wind along the waterfront and are sure to please. Also check out some of the historic buildings on the site (military batteries).

Years ago, I was waiter in popular, touristy restaurant on the Halifax waterfront. I would often have visitors ask me for a "short list" of things to see and do in Halifax. The Halifax Public Gardens have always been in the top three of my recommendations (and now you want to know the other two: The Maritime Museum and The Citadel). If you are in Halifax anytime between the Spring and Fall, the Public Gardens are not to be missed!

This is an interesting site with much history. A tour is worthwhile, but you may just enjoy walking around "Citadel Hill" for the views of the city and harbour.

Many come for the Titanic exhibit, but I like other areas of the museum, too. DON'T MISS visiting the HMCS Sackville outside--unless it is in the navy dockyard in the off season or away for restoration.
