Don't worry, the breakwater stops that happening now! You can eat outside and enjoy the harbour views on sunny days. They do a decent pint too. The menu is extensive, seafood is fresh, big portions, amazing views, book well in advance - as soon as you know you're coming to Staithes.

It's a bit of a trek but worth it for the scenery which is stunning up in the hills. Traditional pub grub and do book a table, it is very popular. The roaring open fires in the winter are glorious.

No need to trek across to Whitby for the best fish and chips because they are right here in Staithes. Eat in or takeaway. It's not a fancy eat in cafe, just a few tables for you to open your takeaway and eat it there. Delicious.

Another of our favourite fish and chip shops. They do the most amazing selection of foods here in this tiny chippy. The onion rings are to die for - we make a special journey for those!

Here's the place to try our traditional dish from these parts called a Parmo. It's a double chicken breast covered in cheese sauce and then topped with whatever you choose. It's massive, so don't eat anything big at lunchtime if you're planning to eat here in the evening. Again, we recommend booking in advance.

We've had it on good authority that these are the most fabulous pizzas. I'm guessing they're quite posh nosh. I think you might have to book them in advance even if they are takeaway. I'm not certain if they deliver. They only make pizza on certain days, so look them up on FB for further details.
