Las Catalinas is a new beach town on the Guanacaste coast of Costa Rica. Its purpose is to create a way of life that is healthy, sustainable, fulfilling, and fun. Mountain biking is a very popular sport here in Costa Rica. Over 22 kilometers of world-class, single-track trails with shifting views of the coast make Las Catalinas a destination for mountain biking enthusiasts from around the globe. Deep in the shade of our quiet valleys, like a scene straight out of the movie Jurassic Park, you can marvel at the flora and fauna around you. Likely wildlife sightings include monkeys, coatis (relatives of the raccoon), deer, peccaries (wild hogs), and a variety of exotic birds. Our trails are sustainably built with a moderate grade, making for fantastic “flow” riding with enjoyable swoops and roller coasters but no sustained, grunting climbs. Pura Vida Ride, our local partner, provides bikes, guidance, tours, and repairs.
