Take a bus to Watsons Bay and then the ferry to Circular Quay. Great way to see the harbour. You can do it in either direction but check timetable ahead as ferry can be infrequent outside peak times. Fish and Chips on the wharf is a great way to finish.

Take the ferry to Manly. Very frequent from Circular Quay.
At Manly walk down The Corso to the ocean side and then follow the path on the south end around to Shelly Beach. The only west facing beach on the east coast of Australia! Great, safe swimming spot with a terrific kiosk.

Bondi is the best known but for us Bronte is the best beach. It's smaller and less crowded with a heritage rock pool and 'bogie hole' at the south end for a splash. Only swim in the pools or between the flags... but it's a must do.

Hidden Gem. Start at Bellevue Road and and walk down the giant stairs then follow the trail. You'll come out at Double Bay and then head towards the harbour. Easy to get back by bus.

Grab a bike or your walking shoes and head to the Park. It's a 20 minute walk or 5 minute bike ride. Join the joggers and bike riders for some great exercise. You can even take a horse ride but you'll need to book ahead.
While you're there walk or ride along Lang Road on the northern side to see some classic heritage Aussie home architecture and gardens.
