The owner Jay is a great guy. The sandwiches take a while and there's not much space inside to eat, but they are wonderful. It's great to pick the up to go and walk down to the canal to eat them while watching ships pass by.

Just a short walk down the hill. They have happy hour on weekdays until 6:00 and this often become dinner for us and the boys.

Great french bakery on top of Queen Anne hill. Walkable, but it is up a long hill. Great place to sit and enjoy french pasties, coffee and conversation or pick it up to go and sit and enjoy it at Kerry Park nearby.

Thursday nights is a great time to come hang out here. On sunny days it seems like the whole neighborhood shows up for the food trucks, fresh produce and live music. We often spend the whole evening here with friends while the kids run around and place.

We often bike to this beach during the summer to enjoy great sights of the Olympic Mountains and beautiful sunsets. Great Playground for kids as well.

Huge park with a lot of hiking trails, a lighthouse and was used as military housing at one point. If you're looking for the closest place to feel like you left the city and are in the forest then this is it. There are a number of parking lots in the park so it might be worth reading on bit on these websites before your visit.

Really fascinating to watch the boats go through the locks here. Some great food within walking distance and good gardens to sit and relax in. Also have a fish ladder with underwater viewing which is amazing when the salmon are spawning.
