It's one of the best in town. You will wait in long lines on the weekend, so arrive when they open f you want to sit down quickly. Or, take a more leisurely approach, and enjoy their gardens and patio while you drink coffee and bloody mary's while you wait. It's definitely worth it. They are famous for their breakfast menu, but also have amazing food all day long.

The Biltmore is a tremendous adventure. If you have small children that can't yet handle the history and tour of the house, you can enjoy the grounds, farm and gardens. It's expansive with lovely walking trails, ponds, a huge greenhouse and a playful farm and play area.

1 Approach RoadThe Biltmore is a tremendous adventure. If you have small children that can't yet handle the history and tour of the house, you can enjoy the grounds, farm and gardens. It's expansive with lovely walking trails, ponds, a huge greenhouse and a playful farm and play area.
Craggy Gardens is about 45 minute drive north on the Blue Ridge Parkway and offers stunning views, great picnic spots and easy trails for walking with a family. A great sunset location, or any time of day :-)

We love DuPont! This special spot will be less touristy than the Blue Ridge Parkway, with options for apple picking and pumpkin patches along the way. DuPont has great trails for hiking with kids, loads of awesome waterfalls, creek stomping, fishing and nature exploration. A great adventure-- and you can hit Brevard for ice cream afterward (Dolly's is a favorite, at the entrance to Pisgah) or Sierra Nevada Brewery on your way back to Asheville.
