Favorite neighborhood restaurants
This Italian food is comparable to the food we enjoy when we travel to Italy. The outdoor patio is expansive and beautiful when the weather cooperates. The Bolognese is terrific.

Right next door to Cibo, this place has American fare and the best signature Manhattan cocktail ever. It's not cheap, but one is plenty, take it from me! The outdoor patio is perfect, we go there for happy hour with reduced drinks and food.

While we like the pizza, we think the pasta is just incredible. Notably the Gramigna Bosciaola and Strozzapreti Salsiccia. The Gramigna is in a creamy sausage sauce, cremini mushrooms and parmigiano. The Strozzapreti Salsiccia is in a tomato sauce with mushrooms and Rosemary.

Excellent happy hour before 5:00 PM with the added attraction of being a short block's walk from us. Nighttime events and DJ's don't disturb our night's peace. Inventive decor. We like the burger and the Chicken Burger. Great signature cocktails.

Margaret Hance Park
Adjoining the Japanese Friendship Garden this is a nice place for a picnic or walk. Under renovation, and will be a great addition to the city when completed. The western end of the park is nearby.
A short walk from the house, this garden is peaceful and a nice break if you've been busy all day. At the front desk, be sure to buy treats for the koi fish. They're ravenous!
